Gadens has welcomed back partner James Beckley in Sydney.

Beckley returns to the national firm from EY, where he was a director in the corporate law team. He started his legal career at Gadens, before making the move to PwC in 2012. He joined EY in 2014 as a senior associate.

“The growth in our corporate advisory team over the past five years has been tremendous,” said Grant Scott-Hayward, Gadens chief executive. “James is another exciting appointment for our firm, and we see this momentum continuing strongly into the future as our pre-eminent corporate advisory practice advances formidably. It is especially pleasing too that James is returning to Gadens.”

Beckley is a specialist in M&A, corporate fundraising, debt and equity restructures, foreign investment into Australia, and commercial contracts and compliance.”

“James offers significant experience in corporate law. He has advised clients across all industries and in particular the telecommunications, medical, biotech and property and construction sectors. We look forward to the unique contributions he will make for our clients and in further enhancing the profile of our growing corporate advisory team in the Sydney market. It gives us great pleasure to welcome James back to Gadens,” Scott-Hayward said.

Beckley’s move follows the appointments of corporate partners Robert Tracy and Edward “Ted” Nixey, who moved to the firm with their teams that included special counsel Breanna Davies.
