Colin Biggers & Paisley has continued to boost its insurance team, this time welcoming a senior lawyer in Sydney.

Mathisha Panagoda has joined the firm as senior associate, making the move from Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers, where he was an associate.

He is a specialist in litigation, compensation, alternative dispute resolution, not-for-profit, IP, and entertainment law. He has represented both plaintiff and defendants in litigation in most Australian jurisdictions and in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

The appointment follows the practice welcoming special counsel Susannah Maclaren and senior associate Lauren Piscioneri in Melbourne in April. In January, the firm also added insurance special counsel Michelle Morgan in Sydney.

“We are well known in the insurance industry for our knowledge and insight and the team continues to attract exceptional talent allowing us to offer our clients top-of-market expertise. Mathisha brings a broad variety of skills to our insurance practice and his Royal Commission experience in particular will be invaluable to the team,” said Nick Crennan, managing partner.
