Australian senior promotions announced at Wotton + Kearney

Wotton + Kearney has promoted six of its lawyers in Australia to senior positions.

The firm has welcomed Hope Saloustros, who’s based in Melbourne, to the partnership. It has also promoted to special counsel Angela Winkler and Samantha Butt in Sydney, as well as Mylinh L’Estrange in Melbourne.

Sydney-based lawyers Adam Batiste and Amanda de Souza have been elevated to senior associate. The promotion round also included Wellington-based Murray Grant, who was promoted to special counsel. The appointments took effect at the start of the year.

Saloustros is known for her work in resolving general liability disputes for both insurers and large corporations, the firm said. She has extensive experience across a wide range of sectors, including construction, manufacturing, retail, sports and leisure, SME, and energy and mining.

Saloustros is also a senior champion of the Wotton + Kearney Community Footprint program in Melbourne. She was part of a team that cycled across Cambodia to help raise more than $100,000 for International Justice Mission. 

Winkler, who has both local and international experience, is an expert in general liability who specialises in personal injury. She is also experienced in in property damage and professional indemnity.

Also one of the general liability experts of the firm, Butt has extensive experience in public and products liability, professional indemnity, fraud, construction and third party recovery claims.

L’Estrange is also a specialist in personal injury and insurance law. She has acted for large international insurers in a wide range of claims, including slip-and-fall incidents, industrial and construction site accidents, and engineering design defects causing injuries.

David Kearney, executive chairman, congratulated Saloustros and the other new senior lawyers on “their well-deserved promotions.” He said that the promotions shows the firm’s commitment to recognising and developing experts, as well as providing senior lawyers with the right attitude to serve clients.
