Aussie promotions at global firm as merger is completed

Twenty-four lawyers have been promoted at Norton Rose Fulbright in Australia.

The firm has also just announced the completion of its merger with US firm Chadbourne & Parke bringing its total global headcount to around 4,000 lawyers in 59 countries. NRF becomes one of the 25 largest law firms in New York City.

The firm is also intending to grow through merger in Australia and country managing partner Wayne Spanner says the latest round of promotions, including 11 special counsel and 13 senior associates, will be important  for its big plans ahead.

“Our business is at an exciting phase in its growth and development in Australia, following our recent announcement of our intention to combine with leading Australian law firm Henry Davis York. This new group of senior lawyers will play an instrumental role in the success of a larger, stronger and more modern law firm,” Mr Spanner said.

International law firm unveils new identity
London-headquartered law firm Holman Fenwick Willan has a new identity.

In response to an increasingly competitive legal market and the firm’s evolution and growth into new areas, it will now be known as simply HFW.

Alongside the name change, HFW has a new logo and colours and says that clients will see a change in messaging and tone of voice from the firm as it focuses on what differentiates it from others.

Expansion for Dentons in Central Asia
Dentons has announced the expansion of its operation in Uzbekistan through a combination with local firm Avent Advokat.

Avent’s founder and managing partner Eldor Mannopov has joined Dentons as country managing partner along with a team of nine lawyers. Their addition to Dentons’ 20-year practice in the country will enable the firm to offer a full service including local law from the Taskent office.
