Arnold & Porter will be welcoming another senior lawyer to its Seoul outpost, which it opened in March.
The firm has recruited Jun Hee Kim, who will join the firm’s international arbitration practice in the middle of the month. He will move from White & Case, where he has been a partner since 2017. He will join James Lee and Kyungseok Kim, who the firm recruited from White & Case to open its office in the South Korean capital.
Prior to White & Case, Kim was general counsel and executive vice president at Hyundai Heavy Industries, where he focused on international legal matters. He advises on international arbitration matters in a range of sectors, including technology, IP, infrastructure, construction, and engineering. Arnold & Porter said that he has represented clients in more than 60 arbitrations around the world.
“Jun Hee will be a notable addition to our Korea team,” said Lee, who leads the global firm’s Seoul office. “The perspective that he brings from serving as general counsel for a top Korean corporation, coupled with his significant international arbitration experience, will uniquely complement our practice and be a key asset for our clients.”
Arnold & Porter’s launch in Seoul closely followed that of Shearman & Sterling.
