€500m notes issue succeeds with KWM’s advice

King & Wood Mallesons was the legal adviser of Sydney Airport, which recently completed a major notes issue in the European market.

The 10-year Euro-denominated fixed-rate bond raised €500m. It is the company’s first European bond issue since 2014.

KWM’s team was led by partners Jo Dodd and Elizabeth Hundt Russell. They were supported by senior associate Will Stawell and solicitors Zoe Anderson, Marina Lauer, and Alex Stevens.

“We have recently witnessed a flurry of activity in the euro market from Australian corporates, driven by greater competitiveness of euros versus US dollars,” Dodd said.

KWM recently acted on Infigen Energy’s $605m refinancing, The Star Entertainment Group’s expanded partnership and $490m equity placement to Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium International, as well as DBS’ $750m notes issue in Australia.
