Clarendon Lawyers advises on cross-border Australian firm acquisition

The Melbourne-headquartered firm which has about 600 staff has been acquired by a South African company.

Clarendon Lawyers has advised Recoveries Corporation Group Limited on its sale to Transaction Capital, a South African public company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
 
Headquartered in Melbourne, Recoveries employs about 600 staff members in Melbourne, Sydney and Suva, Fiji. Its sale is expected to close in early 2017.
 
Financial details of the acquisition were not revealed.
 
Recoveries provides specialist debt recovery and insurance claims recovery services to clients within the government, insurance, banking and finance, utilities and telecommunications market sectors in Australia.
 
The Clarendons team was led by M&A Directors Tony Symons and Alex Bean, who were assisted by senior associate Billy Dwyer.
 
Transaction Capital was advised by Minter Ellison.
