Rory Alexander is a commercial lawyer specialising in procurement and major infrastructure projects, particularly in a government context. He is known by his clients for his pragmatic and commercial style, and his friendly and approachable manner. He advises clients on all aspects of the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle for major infrastructure projects. This includes advice on project delivery models, procurement strategies, contract structuring, pricing and payment, intellectual property, risk and liability, performance management, government policy, negotiation strategy and the resolution of disputes. Over the past 12 months, Alexander has been directly involved in the negotiation and award of some of Australia's most significant, multi-billion-dollar government projects. These have contributed to Australia's national defence and security, fostered a sovereign shipbuilding workforce and boosted the economy in remote and regional centres. Alexander displays leadership through his mentoring and support of junior lawyers and graduates within his team; he acts as a mentor in the ACT Law Society's mentoring program and was entrusted as commercial negotiator on client projects valued up to $800million. In early 2019, he was short-listed for the Lawyers Weekly 30under30 award, in the ‘Government’ category.
