As a lawyer in Clayton Utz’s corporate, M&A and capital markets practice, JW Lee has had the privilege to work on some of Australia's landmark corporate M&A transactions and energy and resources projects. During the course of these large-scale deals, he has been able to fast track the development of his legal knowledge, skills and expertise (particularly in the evolving energy and resources industry), as well as demonstrate his leadership skills in driving large-scale projects and transactions. In addition to this, Lee also contributes to the firm and sector more broadly. He leads the Clayton’s pro bono practice in Brisbane as coordinator and is the key relationship contact managing a range of community centres within the city. He also proactively runs the Korea desk due to his practical experience working in Korean law with Bae, Kim & Lee LLC in Seoul. He works across Clayton’s local network of offices to advise Korean clients on a wide range of matters including foreign investors who are looking to invest in Australia. Lee also curates industry briefing updates and shares insights on emerging issues in the energy and resources sector in the firm’s CLE program.
