Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP) has welcomed Sam Harvey to its insurance team in Brisbane as a senior associate.

He specialises in matters involving professional indemnity, general liability insurance, insurance and reinsurance, property insurance, and construction disputes. He also has experience handling general commercial litigation issues, including defence in regulatory prosecutions, defamation proceedings, shareholder disputes, restraint of trade applications, and international commercial arbitrations.

Harvey has represented both domestic and international insurers in general, coverage, and indemnity disputes. He has a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution and litigation issues. He has appeared with and without counsel before the High Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia, Queensland Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Queensland, District Court of Queensland, and Magistrates Court of Queensland.

At CBP, he will tackle complex litigation issues, concentrating on professional indemnity, personal injury, financial lines, property damage, recovery and defence.

Harvey's appointment is the latest in a series of additions and promotions within the insurance group at CBP. Special counsel Shehan Gunatunga joined the firm earlier this year, as did senior associate Zaid Mohammed.
