Jones Day has promoted Daniel Chaney to partner in its Perth office.

Chaney works with the global disputes team. He has operated across Jones Day's offices in London and Madrid as well.

His practice covers commercial arbitration and litigation across various sectors, particularly the energy and resources sectors. He has a background in handling complex and high-value construction disputes.

Chaney's recent body of work includes claims related to the design and construction of iron ore and bauxite facilities in Australia and power and gas processing facilities in the Middle East. He has also handled matters related to a public-private partnership infrastructure project in the UK, drilling vessels in Singapore, and chemical processing facilities in Russia.

He has tackled issues like contractual termination, the applicability of liability caps, design warranty disputes, allegations of misleading conduct and negligence, and COVID-19 concerns.

Chaney has appeared before the International Chamber of Commerce, London Court of International Arbitration, Singapore International Arbitration Centre, and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.
