Ardea taps Clayton Utz for advice on cooperation agreement with Japanese consortium

Clayton Utz has been tapped to advise ASX lister Ardea Resources Ltd as it enters into a cooperation agreement with a consortium to form a joint venture. 

The joint venture is instrumental in the development of the Kalgoorlie Nickel Project – Goongarrie Hub. Mitsubishi Corporation and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd make up the Japanese Consortium.  

Under the cooperation agreement, the joint venture will finance and conduct a definitive feasibility study on the Kalgoorlie Nickel Project – Goongarrie Hub. The study is expected to start in the first half of the year and conclude by the second half of 2025. 

The Clayton Utz team was headed by corporate partner Mark Paganin and special counsel Scott Girdler. They were supported by senior associate Georgia Mazzega and lawyer Daniel Martinez

Ardea Resources is engaged in the exploration and development of mineral resources. The Kalgoorlie Nickel Project – Goongarrie Hub is located 70km northwest of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and holds one of the biggest undeveloped nickel-cobalt resources worldwide.
