Allens has elevated 12 lawyers to its partnership and surpassed a representation target it set back in 2017.

The firm had pledged to have 35% female representation in the partnership by 2022, its bicentennial anniversary. When the appointments take effect on 1 July, Allens’ partnership will be more than 37% women.

The new partners are as follows:

  • Elyse Adams – TMT
  • Adrian Amer – M&A
  • Hannah Biggins – M&A
  • Miranda Cummings – disputes and investigations 
  • Stephanie Malon – funds, super and wealth
  • Rebecca Pleming – real estate and development
  • David Rountree – TMT
  • Monisha Sequiera – disputes and investigations 
  • Simon Sherwood – disputes and investigations
  • Ngoc Anh Tran – corporate
  • Yu Zhang – banking and finance
  • Lisa Zhou – banking and finance

“We are delighted that we will exceed our gender target of at least 35% female partners during 2022, our 200th year. The firm has taken deliberate steps over many years across structure, culture and policy to achieve this result,” chair Fiona Crosbie said. “As a firm, we strive to foster a culture where gender equality is the norm.”

In line with its 40:40:20 goal, the firm has committed to further increasing female representation in the partnership to 40% by 2025.
