Withers launches integrated law firm in Singapore

The partners of Withers Worldwide and Singapore’s KhattarWong LLP have voted to combine their practices into a fully- integrated law firm in Singapore called Withers KhattarWong LLP.

With over 90 lawyers qualified in various jurisdictions, including Singapore, the US, the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Italy, Withers KhattarWong LLP is the largest international law firm focused on private capital in Singapore.

"We are delighted to announce the formation of Withers KhattarWong LLP,” said Margaret Robertson, CEO of Withers. “This underscores our commitment to Singapore and the region and our strong belief in the immense opportunities arising from the growing wealth and business environment in Asia Pacific. The fully integrated firm will continue to provide unmatched multijurisdictional legal advice from our office in Singapore, across private client, tax, dispute resolution and commercial matters.

Withers KhattarWong was formed at the start of 2015 as a formal law alliance (FLA) between international law firm Withers and Singapore firm KhattarWong, with all of the latter's partners joining the Withers' partnership with full economic integration. In the ensuing years, the combined practice has grown significantly through strategic hires and the strengthening key practices.

"In the coming years, we look to expand upon our leading position in the market,” said Deborah Barker SC, managing partner of Withers KhattarWong LLP. “During our FLA, we have worked on Southeast Asia’s largest debt restructuring deal in recent years, numerous high profile litigation matters, as well as assisting numerous successful clients on their estate planning and family office activities."
