Entertainment law-specialist boutique firm Media Arts Lawyers has welcomed three to its partnership in a recent promotions round.

Yasmin Naghavi (Melbourne), Marcus Walkom (Melbourne) and Rob Glass (Sydney and Auckland) join David Vodicka, Stephen King and Julian Hewitt. The new additions expand the roster of partners by double, and is indicative of the growth of the firm.

“Yasmin, Marcus and Rob have been on partner track for many years, and these appointments recognise their valuable contribution to the firm,” founding partner Vodicka said. “They are the next generation of leaders at Media Arts Lawyers and an integral part of our long-term strategy to further build our team and strengthen the practice areas of the business to better serve our clients in the entertainment and creative industries.”

Naghavi leads the firm’s creative industries and employment law practices. She focuses on talent representation.

Walkom advises across all aspects of commercial and entertainment law. He concentrates on new and emerging talent in the music industry.

Glass has worked with internationally recognised festivals, ARIA-winning musicians and Billboard Top 10 global hit makers for over 10 years. He has tackled matters related to commercial and IP law.

Between them, the three new partners have advised the likes of Andy Allen, BMG Music, Tame Impala, Wolfmother, Rufus Du Sol and Peking Duk.

“The new appointments represent an increased depth of experience across the music industry and are part of a long-term strategy to expand expertise across all areas of talent representation,” Media Arts Lawyers said.

Over more than two decades, the firm has worked with clients across Australia and New Zealand.
