Logie-Smith Lanyon lands legal eagle

Logie-Smith Lanyon (LSL) has landed one of Australia’s leading commercial law specialists.

Roderick Lyle has moved to the Melbourne-based full-service commercial firm as a senior corporate adviser. He came from Clayton Utz, where he held the same position in the Melbourne office.

Andrew Logie-Smith, LSL managing partner, said that the appointment greatly expands the firm’s network of business clients and significantly enhances the firm’s reach in the corporate area. Lyle possesses skill and experience that will complement and enhance the capabilities of the firm’s lawyers, he said.

Lyle is a seasoned lawyer known for his work on numerous high-profile M&A and ECM transactions in Australia and beyond. He brings to the firm more than 40 years of experience, including strategic and tactical advice and project management of an extensive range of corporate law issues.

“Rod epitomises Logie-Smith Lanyon’s values that ‘we outperform.’ His legal and commercial skills speak for themselves. Rod’s integrity, loyalty and client focus also reflect the values and culture of Logie-Smith Lanyon, and we are delighted Rod has joined the Logie-Smith Lanyon family,” Logie-Smith said.

Lyle said that LSL has a strong team-based culture.

“I have known Andrew Logie-Smith, the managing partner, for over 35 years. He is a practitioner of enormous integrity. It is a fine firm and I will be honoured to make a contribution to its continued growth and evolution,” he said.
