Holding Redlich brings in renewables expert

Holding Redlich has boosted its renewable energy expertise with the recruitment of a seasoned lawyer with international experience.

Scott Schlink has joined the national firm’s construction and infrastructure team in Melbourne as senior associate, making the move from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where he was most recently a board member of the American Chamber of Commerce there. He was also previously a senior associate based in MinterEllison’s office in the city, advising on numerous major solar and wind power projects.

“The renewable energy sector is booming at the moment, with a number of state subsidy schemes and an influx of capital pushing project development,” Schlink said. “However, future demand remains unpredictable due to the wide range of positions the major parties have taken on policy setting. It will be interesting to see how investors ‘future-proof’ their deals going forwards.”

Schlink’s arrival comes at a time when renewable energy issues are gaining more attention in Australia, said Ian Robertson, Holding Redlich national managing partner. He said that Schlink brings excellent skills to the firm’s renewable energy team.

Earlier this month, Holding Redlich welcomed partner Adrianna Witkowski in Sydney from MinterEllison.
