Gadens acts as Australian consulting company is acquired by a global giant

Gadens was the legal adviser of Third Horizon on its acquisition by Publicis Sapient.

Publicis Sapient is one of the largest “digital transformation firms” in the world, Gadens said. It is a wholly owned division of French advertising giant Publicis.

Third Horizon will add about 70 staff to the Australian arm of Publicis Sapient. With the combination in Australia, Third Horizon clients gain access to the Publicis Sapient network, which has 20,000 staff worldwide.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Corporate partner Robert Tracy and special counsel Breanna Davies led the Gadens team. They were supported by associate Kevin McVeigh and lawyer Zein Jomaa.

The acquisition marks the “next stage” for Third Horizon, Tracy said. “By becoming part of Publicis Sapient, Third Horizon and its clients will benefit greatly from the broadening of capabilities and expertise available to them at a global level,” he said.

Gadens recently announced that Mark Pistilli has been named the chief executive of its Melbourne and Sydney partnership. Pistilli said then that the firm has a growth strategy focused on the quality of its people and the work that the firm does.

In deals, Gadens recently confirmed its role advising The Citadel Group on its acquisition of Wellbeing Software Group in a $198m deal.
