The former executive head of DWF Australia’s Newcastle branch has joined the partnership at Hicksons Lawyers.

Lachlan Wilson is a seasoned litigator with a specialisation in commercial and insurance disputes, construction and insolvency. He has handled complex commercial and insolvency litigation, insurance litigation, construction disputes and professional indemnity and negligence matters.

He is an accredited dispute resolution specialist, and was recognised by Best Lawyers Australia in the field of insolvency and reorganisation law.

In addition to serving as executive head, Wilson was also a principal lawyer in DWF Australia’s commercial disputes and insolvency practice. He also worked with Sparke Helmore as special counsel.

Wilson said that he was drawn to Hicksons due to its history and its family-friendly, flexible culture.

“In addition, the fact that the firm is looking to grow in uncertain times gives me confidence for the future. This is an expansion opportunity and I look forward to using my broad experience across construction, commercial litigation and insolvency to grow the firm through client retention and acquisition,” he said.

Managing partner Stewart Cameron praised Wilson’s extensive experience.

“Hicksons is delighted to have Lachlan join the partnership. Lachlan’s extensive experience will assist in diversifying Hicksons’ client offering in the Newcastle and regional markets, which aligns to the firm’s growth objectives,” Cameron said.

Wilson will operate from the firm’s Newcastle office.
