Managing director David Edney confirmed that he was thrilled when Sanaz became part of the firm and is even more pleased that she has now become a director.

Director Lauren Copeland also expressed delight over Sanaz’s promotion, describing her as “an excellent family lawyer who is lovely to deal with”.

“Sanaz is proactive, professional and always tries to achieve the best outcome for her clients,” Copeland said. “She is a wonderful mentor and colleague and has become an integral part of the CE team.”

Sanaz said she was thrilled to continue her career journey with the firm as a director and looked forward to learning from and growing with her colleagues.

“Prior to joining CE, I knew David and Lauren as industry peers and friends. I admired their compassion, holistic approach to their work and their technical excellence,” Sanaz said. “When the opportunity to join the CE team came about, I jumped at the chance to work with such incredible people whom I have the highest level of respect for and share the same values.”

Sanaz joined CE Family Law as an accredited family law specialist in 2020. Having been practising for almost 20 years, she specialises in all aspects of family law, divorce proceedings and complex property matters. In particular, she works with couples and families undergoing separation, advising them on property settlement, the division of complex businesses and trust structures, parenting matters, and child support.

Additionally, she helps clients protect their wealth through financial agreements before they marry or enter into a de facto relationship. Throughout her practice, she has worked alongside accountants, psychologists, family dispute resolution practitioners and other professionals.

Originally from Iran, Sanaz migrated to Melbourne with her family when she was six years old. After obtaining her science law degree from Deakin University, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Skills and Ethics at Monash University and was admitted to legal practice in 2002.
