Baker McKenzie onboards new partner to its transactional practice group

Baker McKenzie has expanded its transactional practice group with the appointment of Trudi Procter as a partner in the financial services and funds team in the Brisbane office.

Among Procter’s expertise lies in financial services regulation and compliance, with extensive experience in investment funds management. In particular, her work encompasses the entire business lifecycle from setting up financial services businesses and funds to ongoing regulatory compliance.

Procter has also acted for fund managers, financial planners, and other Australian financial services licensees on various commercial transactions.

"Trudi has an enviable mix of international and domestic expertise,” said Anthony Foley, national managing partner at Baker McKenzie. “We are excited to expand our successful financial services and funds team with the addition of Trudi as a new partner in our growing Brisbane office."

Prior to Baker McKenzie, Procter was most recently a partner at McCullough Robertson. She also held roles at the Bank of Queensland and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner in London in the years before.

Procter joins Alan Darwin in the financial services and funds team, who was recently promoted as a partner last month. Baker McKenzie also saw the promotion of Liam Hickey as a partner in the Australian financial sponsors transactional team.

Commenting on her appointment, Proctor said: “The firm enjoys an preeminent position in the global legal market and provides a terrific opportunity for me to grow my practice both within Australia and abroad."
