Police are treating a fire in a law firm carpark as suspicious after it destroyed two cars
Police are treating a blaze in the carpark of a NT law firm as suspicious.
Two cars owned by the Norther Australia Aboriginal Justice Agency were written off in the fire, which also caused minor smoke damage to the back of the agency’s offices in Shadforth Lane.
Emergency services were called to the fire on Saturday at around 8.30pm as bystanders tried to extinguish the blaze. According to a report by The Herald Sun, crime experts were also called to analyse the scene.
“It appears that some bystanders had attempted to put the fire out with a garden hose,” a police spokesman said.
It appeared the fire had started from a Mitsubishi and spread to two other cars. Detectives are viewing security camera footage from nearby cameras as part of their ongoing investigation.
Police said the fire would be treated as suspicious until a cause was established and urged members of the public with any information about the fire to contact police.
