KWM acts on aircraft financing and clean energy deals
King & Wood Mallesons has acted on a complex cross-border aircraft financing deal and a clean energy deal in Western Australia.

KWM acted for ING Bank on its deal with a Chinese state-owned-enterprise lessor on the refinancing of the lessor’s acquisition and leasing of a wide-body aircraft to an Indonesian airline. This cross-border transaction required expertise in English law, PRC law and New York law.

The KWM team was led by Hong Kong counsel Tejaswi Nimmagadda with support from Andrew Rajanayagam and Helen Shum, and assistance from Beijing partner Wang Ning and associate Qianqian Huang (PRC law aspects) and New York partner Tingting Tan (New York law aspects).

KWM also advised the APA Group on the development of its 130MW Badgingarra Wind Farm project (BWF) in Western Australia. The project will be part of a 230MW clean energy precinct that includes APA’s 80MW Emu Downs Wind Farm and the 20MW Emu Downs Solar Farm.

The BWF project has a long-term offtake agreement with Alinta Sales. It also involves an engineering, procurement, and construction contract, as well as a long-term operations and maintenance contract with Siemens Wind Power.

The KWM team was led by partners Shannon Etwell and Craig Rogers.
