Following a major merger, one firm has announced it will branch into Adelaide and Hobart in August.
National law firm Barry.Nilsson. will be opening offices in Adelaide and Hobart in August after merging with Winter Hilditch & Fotheringham (WHF), and launching a new and larger office space in Sydney.
The firm – which specialises in Insurance & Health, Family Law & Estate Planning, and Property & Commercial – recently opened their Melbourne office. The firm also has an office based in Brisbane.
The merger with WHF and expansion of the Sydney office will also bring with it a host of staff growth.
“Notably, we have expanded carefully and selectively by only recruiting staff who are attracted to our values and client-focused service,” said managing partner Don Leembruggen.
Barry.Nilsson.’s Adelaide office formed by merging with WHF will be staffed by new partners Andrew Hilditch, Bronwyn Ackland and Michael Fotheringham; special counsel Bill Conor; senior associates Matt Davis and Sam Hilditch; and solicitors Myles Mayo and Emma Pilkington, along with support staff.
Meanwhile, special counsel Steve Smith, senior associate Emily Page and associate Alzena Ali will be with Barry.Nilsson’s Hobart office, to be headed by partner Peter Forbes-Smith.
As the firm launched a larger Sydney office located at Level 19, 60 Castlereagh St., they also announced the recruitment of new partners Peter Harvey and Henry Silvester, special counsel Melinda Drew, two senior associates, Julia Byrnes and Helen Li, and solicitor Jacinta Daher.
“We see exciting times ahead for our firm and are confident our increased scale and depth will contribute to successful outcomes for our expanding national client base,” said Leembruggen.
The expansion brings the firm’s Sydney team to 20 solicitors, including six partners.
