After just two-and-a-half years with Bunnings, Chute is now leading the legal function for the business, which has 40,000 team members and senior leaders across more than 360 stores, distribution centres and manufacturing facilities. His status as an ‘emerging leader’ has been reinforced by recent appointments: he’s taken over as privacy officer and was also inducted into the audit and risk committee. He’s played a crucial role in improving business processes and efficiency at Bunnings; demonstrating significant capacity in competition and consumer law issues; taking responsibility for a diverse range of operational legal issues; and supporting M&A activity and ongoing commercial contracting matters. From supporting the delivery of Bunnings’ new ecommerce platform to developing business-specific competition and consumer law training packages to over 500 team members across multiple functional departments, Chute has proven himself to be a valued member of the organisation.
