G+T announces banking and finance firm's integration in Perth practice

Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) has announced that Wright Legal, a banking and finance firm based in Perth, will be integrated into its office in the city.

Wright Legal was founded in 2001 by Paul Wright, who is a former Freehills partner. It is now managed by its principal Trish Chapman along with Dom McGreal. The firm has received multiple industry awards and been the leading boutique banking and finance practice in Western Australia.

“We are delighted that Trish and Dom have joined forces with Gilbert + Tobin as partners of the firm in Perth,” said Danny Gilbert, founder and chair of G+T.

“Through hard work, innovation and an outright dedication to client service, Trish and Dom have built Wright Legal into the leading independent banking and finance practice in Western Australia. These are all characteristics we value highly at Gilbert + Tobin,” added Gilbert.

“Given the growth of the Wright Legal practice and the tremendous opportunities we believe lie ahead, combining with Gilbert + Tobin makes perfect sense,” said Chapman.

“Most importantly, it provides Wright Legal’s clients with continuity of the same excellent service but adds access to a broader range of expertise to meet their legal and commercial needs,” she added.

Along with the appointment of Clare Pope and George Varma as partners of G+T, the integration of Wright Legal into its Perth office will strengthen the firm’s capacity to provide legal services to clients, focusing on the sectors of energy + infrastructure as well as metals + mining.

“Our partner numbers in Western Australia have increased by over 60% in the last three years, a sign of our commitment to this important and rapidly growing market,” said Gilbert.
